EXPPERTS MEETING ON ANTI-CORUPTION

Together with the Rule of Law Program South-Eastern Europe of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, we organized the Experts Meeting "The Role of the Newly Elected Anti-Corruption Commission", where academics, lawyers, government, business community, civil society, and media representatives, as well as diplomats, discussed the challenges of the fight against corruption in Macedonia.

REGIONAL SEMINAR "BUILDING BRIDGES 2019 - FROM NEIGHBORS TO STRATEGIC PARTNERS"

30 participants from MKD and GR, participated in a two-day seminar on which they had a chance to learn more about the current state of play in the EU Integration process form high-class lecturers.

The seminar’s interactive sessions additionally stimulated the development of soft skills as participants were asked to listen and reason, communicate and work in groups to produce solutions to common challenges or find answers to posted questions.

MACEDONIAN - ITALIAN BUSSINES FORUM

February 2019, Skopje

We had to pleasure to organize the Macedonian - Italian Business Forum, together with the Italian-Macedonian Chamber of Commerce from Rome, and the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce. Companies from Italy and Macedonia had the opportunity to explore the possibilities for mutual cooperation and establish channels of communication and future cooperation.

SECOND MACEDONIAN – GERMAN FORUM "BUILDING BRIDGES – POLITICS AND ECONOMY"

October 2018, Skopje

The second Macedonian–German Forum was dedicated to bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics and economy. The aim of the forum was to strengthen the bilateral political relations and to expand opportunities for business to business cooperation. Additionally, we aim to help both countries develop a new level of communication and cooperation for social and economic prosperity and sustainable social development.

On the Second Macedonian – German Forum, we marked 25 years since the establishment of bilateral relations between the Republic of Macedonia. For that purpose, a group of experts from the Institute for Social Research – MK91 developed a policy - brief about the anniversary, highlighting the most important moment in the bilateral relations. The policy brief was presented during the Forum, shared with the participants of the event and it is also published in e-form on the internet (web and social media).

THIRD BILATERAL SEMINAR “SHAPING OUR COMMON FUTURE”

September 2018, Sandanski

Thirty students from Bulgaria and Macedonia participated in the traditional Bilateral Youth Seminar that was held in Sandanski (26-29 Sept. 2018) under the slogan “Shaping Our Common Future”. The third edition of the forum took place in the days preceding the historic referendum in the Western Balkan country, which provided a unique backdrop for discussions, exchange of ideas, viewpoints and hopes for a better future.

The cross-border initiative, organized by the Economic Policy Institute (Sofia) in partnership with the Institute for Social Research MK91 (Skopje) and with the kind support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, aimed at facilitating the people-to-people dialogue through a series of interactive sessions, team exercises and insightful lectures.

CATHEDRA ADENAUER -  "THE FUTURE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE WESTERN BALKAN"

The EU has foreseen 2025 as the next wave of enlargement. According to the European Commission, the Western Balkans countries now have a historic window of opportunity. For the first time, their accession perspective has a best-case timeframe. The EU enlargement in 2025 can be only realistic if the WB countries show strong political will, deliver real reforms and if the neighborly bilateral disputes are resolved. This year topic of the seminar will be: “The Future of the EU and the WB” and will take place from 4 to 6 May in Kavadarci.

Cathedra Adenauer represents a scientific and educational platform through which young students and scientists are attaining a broader understanding of all the significant aspects of the EU integration process but also they are discussing all current challenges with which the EU is facing.

SECOND BILATERAL SEMINAR “SHAPING OUR COMMON FUTURE”

“Shaping Our Common Future” was the slogan of the 2nd Bulgarian-Macedonian Youth Seminar that took place in the period April, 12-15, 2018 at Aurora Resort and Spa in Berovo, Macedonia. It was jointly organized by the Institute for social research – MK91 (Skopje, Macedonia),  the Economic Policy Institute (Sofia, Bulgaria) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Bulgaria.

The forum gathered 36 university students: 15 from Bulgaria and 21 from Macedonia. It aimed at providing a platform for cross-border people-to-people exchanges and at facilitating the debate among young people from Bulgaria and Macedonia on topics such as cross-border and regional cooperation, the future of the European Union and the Western Balkans’ prospects for EU membership. The seminar’s interactive sessions additionally stimulated the development of soft skills as participants were asked to listen and reason, communicate and work in groups to produce solutions to common challenges or find answers to posted questions. It is important to underline that the outcome of the seminar is not only the lessons learned and the practical knowledge gathered but also long-lasting friendship among all the participants. All lectures and topics were in the context of Bulgarian-Macedonian relations especially after the signed Bilateral agreement on good neighborly relations.

“Shaping Our Common Future” was the slogan of the 1st Bulgarian-Macedonian Youth Seminar that took place in the period September 28th – October 1st, 2017 at Aparthotel LUCKY BANSKO SPA & RELAX. It was jointly organized by the Economic Policy Institute (Sofia, Bulgaria), the Institute for Social Research – MK91(Macedonia) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Bulgaria.

The forum gathered 30 university students: 15 from Bulgaria and 15 from Macedonia.
